What Makes This Vodka Sidecar So Good?

  • This sour drink is a beautiful sping on the classic sidecar! But be careful, sip slowly, as it does pack a punch! 
  • The vodka sidecare is uper versiltle. You can serve it anytime: summer, holiday dinner, happy hour, etc 
  • The original sidecar was created during Prohibition and the vodka sidecar gives a nod to thie historic drink but with a modern twist. 

Tips and Tricks for a Vodka Sidecar

  • I’m using a small stemmed cocktail glass but you could use a champagne flute or lowball glass.
  • Sidecar cocktails are typically made with cognac but for this variation, we’re switching it out for vodka. Any good quality unflavored vodka will work.
  • Orange liqueur adds a sweet citrusy flavor to the cocktail.
  • Lemon juice adds additional citrus flavor and acidity to the cocktail.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ½ ounces orange liqueur
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Lemon peel for garnish

Instructions
 

  • (Optional) Place 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar in another small bowl. Dip your glass into the water and then into the sugar. Set aside. 
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the vodka, orange liqueur, and lemon juice. Shake until chilled– about 30 seconds.

  • Strain into your prepared glass and enjoy immediately.
