This Wellness Shot recipe is part of a health craze that has taken the world by storm. These nutrient-rich beverages are little but mighty and blended up to provide your body with a rapid boost of energy and wellness.

Ingredients
  

  • 40 to 50 grams of turmeric unpeeled
  • 40 to 50 grams of ginger unpeeled
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your ingredients. First, peel the turmeric and ginger using a spoon.

  • Place the peeled turmeric, peeled ginger, orange juice, water, and chia seeds in a blender, and blend until smooth. Divide into shot glasses to serve.

Notes

  • Fresh turmeric can stain your hands and utensils, so we recommend wearing gloves.
  • If you can't find fresh turmeric, you can use powdered turmeric. It won't be as powerful as when fresh, but it will still have nutritional benefits. Substitute the fresh turmeric with 2 teaspoons of powdered turmeric in this recipe.
  • If you find the flavor of the turmeric and ginger to be too strong, you can add a touch of honey to sweeten it up.
  • A few more ingredients you can add for health benefits are a pinch of cayenne pepper or a hint of apple cider vinegar. Start with small amounts and adjust to your taste preferences.
  • Storage Tips: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days if you have leftovers, though it's best to enjoy after making it fresh.
