Ginger Turmeric Shot

Skip the juicer and pull out your blender to make this healthy, easy, and zesty Ginger Turmeric Shot! This wellness drink is packed with nutrients, naturally sweetened, and delicious.

Ingredients
  

  • 40 grams Turmeric Root fresh
  • 40 grams Ginger Root fresh
  • 1/2 Green Apple
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Lemon Juice freshly squeezed

Instructions
 

  • First peel the green apple, turmeric and ginger root. Then place the peeled turmeric, peeled ginger, lemon juice, green apple and water in a blender.

  • Blend until smooth.

  • Divide into shot glasses to serve, or store in the fridge to enjoy later.

Notes

  • You'll need 2-3 fresh lemons to get 1/2 cup of lemon juice.
  • A 40-gram (1.4-ounce) piece of gingerroot will be about 3 inches long. The same goes for turmeric. Use fresh ginger and turmeric for this recipe! 
  • This recipe works best in a high-speed blender like a Vitamix. You can also send all of the fruits through your juicer, but you'll lose the fiber in the pulp.
  • For a smoother shot, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve after blending.
  • These shots can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Turmeric stains, so I suggest using a glass storage jar.
